TITAN was designed and built between 2014 and 2019, and LINQ acquired it in 2021.

The TITAN name has since been retired, and LINQ’s engineering team has spent five years evolving it into LINQ School Nutrition, the platform districts use today.

TITAN brought a strong foundation of nutrition expertise. LINQ School Nutrition builds on that foundation with the security, engineering, and operational rigor it takes to be the system you can count on every day, for every student and every meal. A large team of expert architects, developers, security, and quality engineers now works alongside nutrition specialists, hardening the platform for the real 20-minute lunch rush, verifying it against USDA rules and all 50 states’ program requirements, and proving it out across districts, year after year.

That’s the kind of track record that only comes from running in real cafeterias, at real scale, every school day, not from a demo. The TITAN name has retired because the product has already moved past it. What exists now is the core mission, matured into a platform districts depend on every day.

We employ a full-time Chief Information Security Officer leading a dedicated security organization. LINQ software is SOC 2 Type II compliant, aligned to the NIST Cybersecurity Framework, FERPA-compliant, and a Student Privacy Pledge signatory. The best school lunch management tools handle both sides of the cafeteria, including front-of-house experience (point of sale, meal accounts, and family payments) and back-of-house operations (menu planning, production records, inventory, and federal claims). LINQ School Nutrition covers both.

That means data flows through the system in real time from the moment you place an order until it’s purchased by a student in the cafeteria. When an apple arrives, it shows up in your inventory as a single apple. When you plan your menu, the system instantly notifies you if the menu meets compliance because it knows how much of that apple is in each recipe. Whether it’s chopped into portions for fruit cups, cooked in a dessert, or sold as a whole fruit, LINQ School Nutrition does the math for you. It knows that two cups of fresh fruit, three slices of apple pie, or an apple sold whole each equal one less apple in your inventory. Inventory syncs with every POS checkout, and that data directly populates production records at the end of the day. When technology works the way it should, you can focus on feeding kids instead of working around the software.

Federal child nutrition programs require districts to collect and process meal applications, verify eligibility, submit claims, and maintain production records, all under strict USDA guidelines. LINQ Nutrition handles every step of that process, from online meal applications and eligibility determination to claims management and production records.

LINQ Connect puts meal applications right on a family’s phone, so applying works without a computer or internet connection at home. The goal is to make sure every eligible student gets fed, every claim gets filed correctly, and the staff running the program aren’t buried in paperwork to make it happen.

A K-12 ERP (Education Resource Planning system) is the software that runs a school district’s back-office operations. A K-12 ERP built specifically for district business offices should cover finance and accounting, HR and benefits administration, payroll processing, purchasing and procurement, warehouse management, and state reporting, all in one product without complex customizations.
